Component 1: Establishment of FishACT Portal
This component will be a collaborative effort with BFAR Regional Offices and Centers. The FishACT Portal will be established by integrating available fisheries information and climate data from DOST-PAGASA and other international database.
Database Overview
Inventory of available information will be conducted and the role of each collaborator will be assigned. Moreover, the scope of the project will also be established.
The survey will be produced and distributed to the prospective participants. Survey will include metadata about regional fishing areas, fishing techniques, fisheries stocks, aquaculture practices, cultured species, and record of past disasters such as storms, floods, red tide occurrence, coral bleaching and fish kill and its impacts (i.e., lost of investment, displacement, etc.).
Metadata will also include base maps, demography, special habitat features (seagrass cover, coral reefs, mangrove forests, etc.), and downscaled CC scenarios from national to local level. The portal will also include metadata about fisheries community scenario in the past 20 years or more including the observed strange phenomena and how they coped up with such crisis.
